AI governance platform for government agencies
Darwin, founded in 2024 by co-founders Noam Maital (CEO) and Asaf Fadida (CTO), is a US-based AI Governance and compliance startup specifically targeting state, local and education (SLED) public sector agencies.
The company raised a $5 million seed round led by UpWest and Resolute Ventures, and in October 2025 announced a $15 million Series A led by Insight Partners with participation from its previous investors.
Darwin’s platform, Darwin Govern, grants agencies enterprise-grade visibility over all AI tools in use, whether approved or shadow AI. The platform also enables policy creation via its Policy Wizard and aligns deployments to frameworks such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, addressing compliance, fairness, data privacy and governance gaps in public sector AI adoption.
